Trademark Search

Before filing a trademark application, it is important to carry out a trademark search the USPTO’s trademark database to see if any mark has already been registered or applied for that is similar to your mark and used on related products or for related services. 

 

Simple trade mark search

​Conduct a free simple word mark search of the USPTO trade mark database for trade mark that is identical or similar to the proposed mark.

 

Comprehensive trade mark search

Conduct a comprehensive trade mark search of the USPTO Trade marks database for identical and similar marks in  classes which over the goods and services. The trademark process, on the other hand, is more complex. As part of the overall examination process, the USPTO will search its database to determine whether registration must be refused because a similar mark is already registered for related products or services (i.e., even identical marks may co-exist if used on goods or services not considered to be related in any way). ​​​A full report, inclusive of written opinions, and recommendations will be sent to you within 3 working days.​​
